DENNIS D. SMITH

accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on April 21, 1985.  Holy House Community Church is a new church plant under the leadership of Pastor Dennis D. Smith.  Pastor Smith was formally a Ruling Elder and an Associate Pastor at the Church of the Great Commission in Camp Springs, Maryland.  Pastor Smith served there for eight (8) years overseeing many large and diverse ministries.  Pastor Smith has also been very active in the mission’s field, and has ministered in various countries such as Bahamas, South America, and East Africa.

After a time of prayer, he received a call from God to plant a new church in Bowie Maryland.  The First Service Celebration was held on January 30, 2000 at the Perrywood Elementary School on 3021 Belair Drive, in Bowie.

Pastor Smith - has been happily married to Karen Denise Smith and from their marriage they have two lovely daughters, Tiffany Gennell Smith and Vonda Leia Davis.  Pastor Smith flows out of the pastoral call on his life and has a deeply rooted concern for the lives of all people.  It is his belief that if people would allow the Lord to have His rightful place in their lives, they could change the world.  The Lord uses him strongly in the area of teaching and counseling.  He seeks to achieve ministry that touches the whole person.

Philosophy

Our passion as a church is to have Jesus Christ seen as the light of the world through our lives. We wish to touch our geographic area as we restore an understanding and practice of Biblical covenant, balanced church government, and the uniting of various age levels at the same time, in a unity of ministry and lifestyle.

The Paul the Apostle said: “Woe is me if I preach not this gospel of Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 9:16).

But the Bible encourages us to examine ourselves. “For if we judge ourselves we will not be judged of

God” (1st Corinthians 11:31). Take a look at your own life and ministry. Let the Holy Spirit really search your heart. The call of God is essential for the ministry.
